MY SITE
YA Fiction
For many years, all I wanted to write was Young Adult (YA) fiction. When I was a young adult myself, this market was almost non-existent with just a few great writers to choose from, such as SE Hinton and Paul Zindel. I'm pleased to say that now the market is flourishing and getting the recognition it deserves.

Where Earth and Sky Meet
Fifteen-year-old Adie is painfully aware that he is not like other boys. For one thing, there’s his father, Craig Cooper – hell-raising former front man to Brit rock legends, Voodoo Mary. Adie has lived in his shadow all his life. Then there are the voices, which start after the death of his beloved grandfather. This traumatic loss seems to have unlocked the terrifying and unwelcome ability to see spirits. Adie is trying to block them all out.
In an attempt to keep him out of trouble for the forthcoming holidays, Adie’s mother suggests a summer spent at a remote country house in Norfolk. For Adie, it’s a chance to reconnect with his father. For Craig, with a recent, very public fall off the sobriety wagon, it’s four weeks away from London and all its ‘distractions’ to dry out. For both of them, it means confronting their demons head on.
But the house has demons of its own – secrets that have laid buried for more than a hundred years – and Adie quickly senses a malevolent entity that is far from happy with their presence. Putting his newfound skills to the test, what Adie ultimately learns about himself, his father and the house is beyond anything he could have imagined before.
